Science, technology and environmental grants
Each year the federal government invests billions of dollars through grants that support science, technology and environmental projects. Eligibility for these grants varies--small businesses are eligible to apply for many of these grants provided the proposed project is aligned with the government's funding priorities for the program.
Through agencies such as the National Institutes for Health, the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration, Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, U.S. Department of Agriculture and Centers for Disease Control, the federal government provides billions of dollars in grants to support health and medicine research, prevention, intervention, education and outreach and development initiatives. Eligibility for these funding programs varies widely and depnds on the individual funding opportunity announcement. Some of these grant programs are open to small businesses.
